What is the difference between Q235 steel and 45# steel

What is the difference between Q235 steel and 45# steel

Q235 steel belongs to carbon structural steel, which refers to ordinary carbon structural steel with a yield strength of 235 MPa. The main products are Q235 steel plate, Q235 welded pipe, Q235H section steel, Q235 I-beam, Q235 angle steel and other profiles. Q235 steel materials are mainly used in buildings and engineering structures such as workshops, bridges, ships, etc. Generally, no heat treatment is required for Q235 steel and it is used directly.

45# steel is a high-strength medium-carbon quenched and tempered steel among high-quality carbon structural steels, with an average carbon content of 0.45%. Therefore, it is named 45# steel. 45# steel does not contain specially included alloy elements. 45# steel is suitable for manufacturing high-strength moving parts, such as air compressors, pump pistons, steam turbine impellers, rolling shafts, connecting rods, worms, racks, gears, pins, etc. in heavy and general machinery.
