The import volume of ST37 hr coil increased significantly in China

From January to April, 441000 tons of ST37 hr coil and so on ordinary hot rolled steel sheet (coil) were imported, a year-on-year increase of 107.5%; the average import price was $521.7/ton, a year-on-year decrease of 20.7%. 597000 tons of ordinary cold rolled steel sheet (coil) were imported, an increase of 6.1% on a year-on-year basis; the average import price was 621.1 USD / ton, a decrease of 11.1% on a year-on-year basis.

The quantity of ST37 hr coil and so on steel imports from ASEAN has grown rapidly. Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and the European Union are still the main sources of imports from mainland China. From January to April, mainland China imported 3.617 million tons of ST37 hr coil and so on steel from the above-mentioned countries and regions, an increase of 1.1% year-on-year, accounting for 86.4 %. Part of the steel products of China's foreign-invested enterprises returned, and the number of imports from ASEAN increased substantially. Due to the better prices in the domestic market, the increase in imports of ST37 hr coil and so on hot rolled steel coils from Ukraine, Kazakhstan and other countries has had a certain impact on the regional market.
