SS400 material chemical composition, SS400 composition
SS400 material is regard as low carbon steel under JIS3101 standard. Heat analysis of SS400 composition shall be used to determine the required chemical composition for carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, and copper.

As per JIS G 3101 standard, for SS400 material chemical composition, Carbon (C), Silicon (Si) and Manganese (Mn) content are not controlled. Phosphorus (P) 0.050% Max and Sulphur (S) 0.050% Max have to be controlled strictly.
Compared with equivalent grades, SS400 material chemical composition, SS400 composition does not have so much limitation. But it can perform well in construction as other carbon steel.
