EN 10083-3 alloy steel 34CrMo4 chemical composition

EN 10083-3 alloy steel 34CrMo4 chemical composition

Steel 34CrMo4 is specified under EN 10083-3 standard. The Steel 34CrMo4 is high quality quenched and tempered alloy structural steel.

Quenching of EN 10083-3 alloy steel 34CrMo4 is in two times. First quenching is to slowly heat to 880°C, then quenching steel 34CrMo4 in oil or water after adequate soaking at this temperature. Tempering as soon as it reaches room temperature. Second quenching is to heat to 780-820°C, then quenching steel 34CrMo4 in oil or water.

Tempering of 34CrMo4 Alloy structural steel is to heat to 205-649°C, then cool steel 34CrMo4 in water or oil.

The main alloy composition of alloy steel 34CrMo4 is Cr and Mo. Therefore, alloy steel 34CrMo4 is also called 34CrMo4 chromium molybdenum alloy steel.

EN 10083-3 alloy steel 34CrMo4 chemical composition:

C(%) 0.30~0.37 Si(%) ≤0.40 Mn(%) 0.60~0.90 P(%) ≤0.035
S(%) ≤0.035 Cr(%) 0.90~1.20 Mo(%) 0.15~0.30

According to EN 10083-3 alloy steel 34CrMo4 chemical composition, the steel 34CrMo4 has lower carbon content, so it has good weldability. EN 10083-3 alloy steel 34CrMo4 can be used in the automotive and engineering industries for tool holders and other such components.
