What is difference between GB/T 700 Q235A carbon plates and Q235B mild plates

GB/T 700 Q235A carbon plates have certain elongation, good welding performance and heat processing property, and good ductility as well as plasticity. Q235B mild plates also have many advantages, A lot of clinets can not tell GB/T 700 Q235A  carbon plates and Q235B mild plates well.

Both Q235A steel plates and Q235B steel plates belong to carbon steel or mild steel, and are generally used in hot rolling state. But there are still some difference between GB/T 700 Q235A  carbon plates and Q235B mild plates.

According to carbon steel plates standard GB/T 700, the distinction of Q235A steel and Q235B material mainly lies in carbon content. The carbon content of Q235A carbon plates is 0.14-0.22.  Q235A steel plate does not need impact test. While Q235B mild plates need to do normal temperature impact test, V notch. Under consultation with the client, the carbon content of Q235B material can also be less than or equal to 0.22%.

In contrast, the mechanical properties of Q235B mild plates are far superior to that of the Q235A  carbon plates. In general, the steel works are marked on the logo before the finished Q235 steel plates are out of the factory. The user can identify the material on the label as Q235A carbon plates, or Q235B mild plates, or other material.
