What causes the rust phenomenon of 201 stainless steel

1. There are chloride ions in the use environment.
Chloride exists widely, such as salt / sweat stains / sea / sea breeze / soil and so on. In the presence of chloride ion, 201 stainless steel corrode rapidly, even more than ordinary low carbon steel.

2. No solid solution treatment.
The alloy elements are not dissolved in the matrix, resulting in low alloy content and poor corrosion resistance of 201 stainless steel.

3. The 201 stainless steel materials without titanium and niobium have inherent intergranular corrosion tendency.
The intergranular corrosion can be reduced by adding titanium and niobium and stabilizing treatment.
