ASTM A283 A carbon steel plate/sheet covered by this specification may be welded by conventional methods. Heat treatment consists of normalizing at 1650F and slow furnace cool. Hot working of ASTM A283 A carbon steel plate/sheet may be done at 1650_1700F or lower temperatures. Tempering is not applicable in ASTM A283 A carbon steel plate/sheet.
