Q460 steel grade levels, properties and application

Q460C, Q460D, Q460E steel grade introduction:
Q460, Q represents the yield strength of steel; 460 represents 460 MPa. The quality grades are divided into C, D, E; when the buyer needs the Q460 steel plate to have thickness direction performance, the symbol representing the thickness direction (Z direction) performance level is added after the above-mentioned grade, for example: Q460CZ15.

Q460 steel is a low-alloy high-strength steel with elongation ≥17%.

Thickness≤16mm: ≥460 Mpa;
Thickness 16-40mm: ≥440Mpa;
Thickness 40-63mm: ≥420Mpa;
Thickness 63-80mm: ≥400Mpa;
Thickness 80-100mm: ≥400Mpa;
Thickness 100-150mm: ≥380Mpa;
Tensile strength: 550-720Mpa;
Elongation: ≥17%.
Impact test: 0℃ impact test: ≥34J.

Q460C, Q460D, Q460E steel application range:
Q460 steel is used as high-strength steel structural parts for engineering and general structures that require impact performance at low temperature of -40℃. Q460C, Q460D, Q460E steel are mainly used in the manufacture of bridges, ships, vehicles, boilers, high-pressure vessels, oil and gas pipelines, large steel structures, etc.
