ASTM B443 N06625 Nickel Alloy Plate

ASTM B443 N06625 Nickel Alloy Plate

ASTM B443 N06625, commonly known as Inconel 625, is a high-performance nickel-based alloy plate renowned for its exceptional corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength. Composed primarily of nickel (≥58%), chromium (20–23%), molybdenum (8–10%), and niobium (3.15–4.15%), this alloy is designed for demanding environments. Its unique composition provides outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride-ion stress corrosion cracking, making it ideal for marine, chemical, and aerospace applications.

Available in two grades per ASTM B443, Grade 1 (annealed) offers excellent ductility for service up to 593°C (1100°F), while Grade 2 (solution-annealed) is suited for higher temperatures, providing superior creep and rupture strength. The alloy’s mechanical properties include a minimum tensile strength of 930 MPa and yield strength of 430 MPa, with excellent toughness even at cryogenic temperatures.

Inconel 625 plates are widely used in turbine shrouds, thrust reversers, seawater processing equipment, and chemical reactors due to their ability to withstand harsh conditions, including acidic and oxidizing environments. The alloy is easily weldable and formable, supporting various fabrication processes without requiring precipitation hardening.

Suppliers offer ASTM B443 N06625 in various forms, including hot-rolled and cold-rolled plates, with thicknesses ranging from 0.3 mm to 75 mm. Surface finishes like mirror or brushed are available, and custom sizes can be provided. For procurement, ensure suppliers provide Material Test Certificates (MTC) per EN 10204/3.1B. Inconel 625’s versatility and durability make it a top choice for critical applications.
