Properties of 316L stainless steel sheet

Properties of 316L stainless steel sheet

Corrosion resistance of 316L stainless steel sheet:
The corrosion resistance of 316L stainless steel sheet is better than that of 304 stainless steel. 316L stainless steel sheet has good corrosion resistance in pulp and paper production. Moreover, 316L stainless steel sheet is also resistant to the erosion of marine and corrosive industrial atmospheres.

Heat resistance of 316L stainless steel sheet:
316L stainless steel sheet has good oxidation resistance in intermittent use below 1600 degrees and continuous use below 700 degrees. In the range of 800-1575 degrees, 316L stainless steel sheet is best not to act continuously. 316L stainless steel sheet has good heat resistance when it is continuously used outside the temperature range. The resistance to carbide precipitation of 316L stainless steel sheet is better than that of 316 stainless steel and can be used in the above temperature range.

Heat treatment of 316L stainless steel sheet:
Solid solution annealing is carried out in the temperature range of 1010-1150 degrees, and then cooled rapidly. 316L stainless steel sheet can not be hardened by overheat treatment.

Welding of 316L stainless steel sheet:
316L stainless steel sheet has good welding properties. All standard welding methods can be used for welding 316L stainless steel sheet. According to the use, 316Cb, 316L or 309Cb stainless steel filler rod or electrode can be used for welding 316L stainless steel sheet. To obtain the best corrosion resistance, the welding section of 316L stainless steel needs to be annealed after welding. If 316L stainless steel is used, no post weld annealing treatment is necessary.
